Evaluation Question 2 - How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

This evaluation question is a vlog styled video with fast paced and quick transitions whilst answering the question. As well as images popping up on the screen giving more imagery.

Peer Feedback On My Magazine Review Page

Again I used 3 students from my media class, like I did for my film review, to answer my questions. This is so I can get some sort of feedback and other opinions than my own. I asked the students in my class as they are doing the same task, I feel like they would be most suitable as they also have knowledge and experience on it. These are the responses I gathered:

Overall, do you feel like my magazine review page is effective? 

• ''I think it looks quite good and is quirky. It stands out for sure.''
• ''Yes, I really like the layout you have chosen and having many images it really catches your eye.''
• ''The review page is sharp, clean and slick''I . All traits I like to see on a magazine review page. Being simple normally does not work but it definitely does here. Well done''

Do you think it has the potential and style of a professional designed magazine?

• ''Honestly, it does look quite professional. If I saw this in a magazine I would not have a second thought of it being done by a student.''
• ''I could definitely see this in a film magazine, you have done a pretty good job.''
• ''I can tell you have done your research with other film reviews as you have nailed this, I think it does have the potential.''

After reading the magazine, do you think the linguistic style is appropriate and well written?

• ''The article is quite well written, I can not seem to find any faults with it.''
• ''I think it is appropriate and well written, However it is a little short and you could of written some more faults with it, as it is a little bias.''
• ''I like the writing, it was not too well-written, just enough to make us relatable with it''.

Can you suggests any changes you would make, anything you think can be added?

• ''Other than some linguistic improvements, everything else is perfectly fine in my opinion.''

After hearing some feedback from my peers to my magazine review, I think I have done a great job as the majority of the feedback is very positive. They stated it was effective and successful, only some linguistic improvements was suggested. However, now knowing that overall the magazine review looks great and stands out, I have came to the conclusion of not touching it and leaving it to what it is now. It was too difficult fitting all the text so adding more would ruin the arrangement of features.
